The Starting Point

This legal consulting firm had never done outbound before. All their business came from referrals and word-of-mouth, which was unpredictable and hard to scale.

What We Changed

We built the entire system from scratch. This included setting up dedicated sending domains, configuring email infrastructure, and creating a CRM workflow in HubSpot for lead tracking.

For targeting, we mapped the legal consulting TAM by identifying companies in specific industries (tech, healthcare, financial services) and targeting General Counsels, VP Legal, and Head of Compliance roles.

The messaging was carefully crafted to feel consultative rather than salesy — each email led with a specific compliance or cost insight relevant to the prospect's industry. Clay enrichment added company-specific data points that made each message genuinely relevant.

The Results

The first month was infrastructure and warmup. By month two, we were averaging 8 meetings per month. By month four, the system was producing 15 qualified meetings monthly.

Open rates settled at 39% (strong for legal vertical) with a 6.4% reply rate. The firm signed 3 new retainer clients directly from outbound conversations in the first 4 months, representing significant annual revenue.
